How to Make Our Espresso Martini
History of the Espresso Martini Cocktail
A relatively modern phenomenon but no less iconic for it, the Espresso Martini was created in early 1980s London by the late great cocktail master Richard ‘Dick’ Bradsell during his time at the Soho Brasserie.
As the story goes a famous model walked in and requested a drink that would invigorate her. Bradsell combined two of his favourite ingredients, espresso and vodka, to create the Espresso Martini. The whisky variation of the Espresso Martini began to gain popularity in the 2000s, with bartenders experimenting to find different complementary flavours to the espresso.

- Syrup or Liqueur– banana, chocolate, vanilla, salted caramel, coconut, pumpkin spice, peanut butter all go well with coffee
- Garnish – Chocolate shavings, caramel shards, crumbled biscuit or Biscoff, or coco powder would all add an additional layer of indulgence.
